Old Trek Route of Adi Kailash & OM Parvat:
Until 2019 the Adi Kailash trek of approx 200 KM was from Dharchula to Dharchula via Pangu,-srikha--Galgad--Malpa-Budhi-Gunji-kutti-Jolingkong-Adi Kailash .

New Motorable Route of Adi Kailash & OM Parvat:

Now in the most popular itinerary offered by Trip To Temples, Adi Kailash & Om Parvat yatra is of 7Night 8 Days. It starts from Kathgodam and ends at Kathgodam. 

1st day, we have Darshan of Neem Karoli Baba Ashram at Kainchi Dham, Chitai Golu Mandir & the Jageshwar Dham. After Darshan, we reach Pithoragarh & stay in a Rest houses

2nd day, we reach Dharchula & complete the medical & documentation part (inner line permit & police verification). 

3rd Day, we start from Dharchula to reach Gunji covering beautiful waterfalls and natural villages en route. Starting from Dharchula we cover villages and places like Dobat- Tawaghat- Pangla- Garbadhar- Lakhanpur- Najang- Malpa- Lamari-Budhi-Chialekh-Garbyang-Napalchu-Gunji
4th Day, we start from Gunji and head towards the darshan of Adi Kailash to Jolingkong Base on 4th day. Although Adi Kailash is clearly visible from Jolingkong base. Those who are comfortable in small treks of 2-3 km can go uphills & have a darshan of the holy Shiva Temple & Parvati Sarovar and then further to Gauri Kund. We return back to Homestays in Gunji/Napalchu for Night.

5th Day, we head towards OM Parvat view point on 5th day which is Nabhidhang and is 22km from Gunji.we return back to Home stay in Gunji/nabi/Napalchu for night. 
6th Day, we drive to Didihat/Chaukori Via Dharchula ,collecting our left out Luggage from Dharchula and  having lunch. 
7th Day, we visit Patal Bhuvaneshwar and later drive to Bhimtal. 
8th Day, after Breakfast in Bhimtal we drop yatris in Kathgodam and Yatra ends at Kathgodam. 

With the new road network development, the trekking part of the Adi Kailash Yatra route has been shortened to an optional 2-3 km approx. The rest of the part is now motorable. We go up to Jolinkong by vehicle from where we have the darshan of Adi Kailash Parvat which is popularly known as Chota Kailash or Baba Kailash.. Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Darshan Yatra happens in 8 days from Kathgodam & in 5 days from Dharchula.

No, there is no dress code for males and females for the darshan of Adi Kailash Parvat and Om Parvat. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes on the entire journey.

There are a total of 10 check posts en route to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat where your Inner line permit will be checked. Yatris need to be patient and cooperative while the forces do their work and do the verification.

Why Adi kailash and OM mountain/OM Parvat are important?

OM Parvat
OM Parvat is One of the rare sights ever to have been found. One can find a natural image of OM being imprinted on OM mountain being beautifully highlighted by snow. According to Puranas, there are a total of eight such naturally existing structures of OM yet only one has been found that exists in the shared borders of three countries, Nepal China and India. As a matter of fact, the front face of OM can be witnessed only the from Indian side from Nabhidang Viewpoint(4300 metres).

 

 

 

Can we climb The Adi Kailash and OM Parvat mountains? / Why no one can climb Adi Kailash & Om Parvat?

Before the construction of new road people use to trek a total of 200 km distance from dharchula to dharchula and yatra was completely done by walking. Earlier few mountaineering groups were given permission/permit to scale Holy Adi kailash but now after the building of new roads and awareness among locals, the administration as well as local people do not support climbing over the holy peak of Adi Kailash. You can trek up to Gauri Kund and touch the feet of the Adi Kailash and receive the blessings of Lord Shiva but you cannot climb over it.

What is Adi Kailash and what is OM parvat?

 Adi Kailash is the second home of Lord shiva and his family. When Shiva Barat started from Mount Kailash towards Rudraprayag for the Shiva’s marriage, the very first halt taken by them was in Adi Kailash. It is believed that Lord Shiva taught the art and the principles of Yoga to Rishis and sages here and was given the title of Adi Yogi. It is because of this reason, this mountain is knwon as Adi Kailash. OM Parvat is one of the rarest wonders of the world. OM is the sound of the Universe .It is revered and considered Holy word in Hinduism,Buddhism,Jainism. The Symbol of OM  (ॐ) can be naturally witnessed and seen taking a shape in the mountain. It is built without any human intervention. One can witness the full honour of OM on clear weather.
