The Kailash Kund Trek is a relatively lesser known trek of India. This high altitude lake is located at the base of Mount Kablas in the Bhaderwah Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. The Kailash Kund Yatra is popular among the locals as the holy trek dedicated to Vasuki Nag – the deity of BhaderwahTown. This annual trek is a three days procession conducted between August & September (according to Hindu calendar). This trek takes the adventure enthusiasts through the breath-taking landscape of Jammu & Kashmir offering panoramic view of the natural beauty of the region including surrounding mountains, dense forests and pristine glacial lake.
Early Morning Pick up from Jammu Railway Station. Drive from Jammu to Bhaderwah. Upon reaching Bhaderwah, check-in at the hotel. The evening is for leisure. One can visit the Vasuki Nag Temple of Bhaderwah. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Check out from the hotel post Breakfast. Drive from Bhaderwah to Chattergala Pass (38 km approx. / 1-1.5 hours) Start your trek from Chattergala Pass to Seoj Dhar (13 km approx. / 7-8 hours)
Return to hotel. Overnight stay and dinner in camps at Seoj Dhar
Early morning start your trek back from Seoj Dhar to Chattergala Pass (13 km approx. / 7-8 hours). Upon reaching Chattergala Pass, drive back to Bhaderwah (38 km approx. / 1-1.5 hours). Check in at the hotel in Bhaderwah. Take some rest at the hotel. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.
Post breakfast check out from the hotel in Bhaderwah. Drive from Bhaderwah to Jammu. Upon reaching Jammu, you will be dropped off at the Railway Station. Continue your journey towards your home with fond memories of the trip.
The Kailash Kund Yatra, a three-day sacred walk held every year, is devoted to the deity of Bhaderwah town, Vasuki Nag, and has been practised for thousands of years. This rite gathers a large number of pilgrims to Kailash Kund only during the three days of the procession, which takes place between August and September.The Kailash Kund hike brings you to Kailash Kund, a lake located 12,887 feet above sea level. It is a lake cloaked in mystery and history, and the residents of Bhaderwah, in Jammu's Doda region, regard it as a sacred site.The traditional trail to Kailash Kund begins at the Vasuki Nag shrine in Gatha village, Bhaderwah. The trail then passes through a number of villages before arriving at the picturesque Seoj Dhar meadows.
