Mark the Date: ‘11th June 2025’, First Batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is Confirmed for Shivbhakts

Published : 30-May-2025 01:38:31 PM

Har Har Mahadev! It’s pure bliss from Shiv Ji that a Shivbhakt like you can now visit Kailash Mansarovar this year.

Yes, you heard that right!

Finally, your wait is over for the holy Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, resuming after a five-year suspension, with the first batch of pilgrims scheduled to depart on June 11, and the second on June 30th, 2025 (throughout the government routes). The resumption follows extensive diplomatic efforts between Indian and Chinese officials throughout the year. As it’s clear that the recent meeting in Lhasa led to this decision, Indian pilgrims are now officially welcomed in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), to visit the sacred pilgrimage site of Hindus- the Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.

Key Highlights

  • The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will begin on June 11th and June 30th of 2025, via the government routes including NathuLa Pass in Sikkim and Lipulekh Pass in Pithoragarh, respectively.

  • For the private tour operators, it is expected to resume in mid-June via the Nepal Kathmandu route, for which Visa and Tibet Travel Permits’ applications have started now.

  • For the Documentation of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the visa permit is issued by the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, which requires the original passport of a yatri.

News from the Archive

The restart of the pilgrimage comes after a series of high-level meetings between Indian and Chinese delegations. The 33rd Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) meeting on India-China border affairs, held in Beijing, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and cooperation along the border.

Additionally, recent infrastructure developments at the Nathu La border have been instrumental in facilitating the yatra resumption. A recent meeting in Lhasa also yielded positive outcomes. On May 21, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced a list of 750 pilgrims through a random selection process. Out of which 500 yatris will take Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Nathu La Pass (11th June) and 250 yatris from the Lipulekh Pass (30th June).

The registration process for willing devotees has now commenced, with pilgrims required to apply for visa permits. The yatra will probably begin mid-June through the Nepal-Kathmandu route, operated by private tour operators like Trip To Temples. For more details, reach out to us at +91-85100 07751. The revised pricing for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Packages due to currency fluctuations and regulatory requirements based on the two-nations dialogue are imposed, and it may increase up to 190 USD or more, depending on alterations followed by binary or government guidelines or advisories. Also, the new requirements mandate tour companies to submit a depository for the inner line permits of Tibet.

Given the challenging terrain and high-altitude conditions, pilgrims must demonstrate physical and mental fitness through medical certificates provided by certified MBBS doctors. Also, those unable to undertake the challenging trek can opt for the Kailash Mansarovar Aerial Darshan, which offers a divine sight of holy Kailash Parvat without any age restrictions, visa requirements, or difficult trekking.

Although the resumption of this sacred pilgrimage marks a significant milestone in India-China cooperation, and provides spiritual seekers the opportunity to undertake this revered journey after years of suspension.
