Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026: Registration Now Open via Lipulekh and Nathu La Routes

The wait is finally over for thousands of devotees. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has officially opened the registration process for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026. This year’s pilgrimage, scheduled to take place between June and August, promises a more streamlined and transparent experience for pilgrims.

Two Iconic Routes

The Yatra will be conducted through two traditional routes, organised in coordination with the Chinese government:

1. Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand): Known for its rugged beauty and trekking trails.
2. Nathu La Pass (Sikkim): A motorable route that is often preferred by senior citizens or those looking for a slightly less strenuous trek.

Batch Details & Selection

The MEA has planned a total of 20 batches for the season. Each batch will consist of 50 pilgrims.

To ensure fairness, the selection isn't "first-come, first-served." Instead, pilgrims will be chosen through a computer-generated, random, and gender-balanced selection process. When applying, you can choose your preferred route or apply for both to increase your chances.

In a move to make the process more accessible, the entire registration is now 100% digital.
