Varanasi Dashashwamedh Ghat

Dashashwamedh Ghat is the most famous and vibrant of Varanasi's riverfront steps, serving as the beating heart of Kashi's spiritual life. According to legend, Lord Brahma performed the Dashashwamedh (ten-horse) sacrifice here, giving the ghat its name and sacred stature. Every evening, thousands gather along its steps to witness the grand Ganga Aarti, a choreographed ritual of fire, chants, and devotion performed by priests as the sun sets over the Ganges.
