Historic Day: PM Modi Hoisted Saffron Flag Atop Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the Faith Restores After 500 Years

In a landmark moment, PM Modi hoisted a 191-foot-high saffron Dhwaj at Ram Mandir’s Shikhar, which symbolises ‘Dharma Dhwaj of Ram Rajya, marking the completion of the temple’s construction. This grand Dhwaj Arohan ceremony created a Ram-May India from Ayodhya to every heart. Raised on the 42-foot pole atop Mandir’s Shikhar, the saffron flag is 22 feet long and 11 feet wide, symbolising dharma and righteousness.

“Today, the city of Ayodhya is witnessing another turning point in India’s cultural consciousness. This moment of flag hoisting celebration at the pinnacle of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is unique. Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai,” said PM Modi, addressing the nation during the ceremony.

PM further added that the “wounds and pain of centuries are healing as a 500-year-old discord is finally being resolved with a formal completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and we must take pride in our heritage, break loose from the mentality of slavery. The sanctum sanctorum’s divine energy at Shri Ram Temple has now been enshrined in the form of a Dharma Dhwaj atop.”

Ayodhya Dhwajarohan Ceremony was graced by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel and CM of UP Yogi Adityanath. CM said, “The grand temple of Lord Shri Ram is a symbol of faith, respect and self-pride of 140 crore Indians. Today’s auspicious day is dedicated to the unending struggle of the revered saints, warriors and devotees of Shri Ram, who dedicated their lives to the movement and struggle. The divine coincidence of Vivah Panchami is making this festival even more sacred.” 

“This Dharma Dhwaja is not merely a flag, but the flag of the renaissance of Indian civilization”, said PM Modi, stating its saffron coloured sun which represents the valour of Shri Ram and the glory of the Suryavanshi dynasty inscribed upon it, the sacred Om depicted, and the Kovidar tree symbolize the greatness of Ram Rajya” stated Prime Minister Modi, during the Dhwajarohan ceremony.”

RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat called the Ram Mandir Dhwajarohan ceremony, “the historic moment of the nation, a day to honour the centuries-old aspiration, sacrifice and struggle”. He talked about the legacy of Ram-Rajya, a kingdom of peace, glory and brotherhood. He further added that “The temple has now been built, and today the 'shastriya prakriya' has been performed. Dhwajarohan has been done."

Ayodhya saw its epoch-making moment when the city was reverberating with the chants of ‘Jay Shri Ram’ and shankhnadh, which signalled the onset of Ram-Rajya. Coinciding with the Vivah Panchami, Millions of Ram bhakts were gathered to witness PM Modi perform the saffron flag hoisting ceremony, which was held during Abhijeet Muhurat. 

Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s Dhwajarohan is more than just a ceremony; it’s a commitment to upholding righteousness, the path of Dharma, peace, and harmony. It’s a moment of pride for Indian civilisation. Ayodhya, the Ram Janambhoomi, is emerging as the cornerstone of developed and rising Bharat. The city from the Treta Yuga will once again serve as an epitome of dharma and truthfulness.
