Delhi Tourism & Heritage Fellowship Program 2025 Aims to Strengthen Cultural Identity and Promote Heritage-Based Tourism, Offering ₹ 50,000 for Monthly Stipend

Published : 24-Jul-2025 06:11:52 PM

The Delhi Government has announced a comprehensive Delhi Tourism Fellowship 2025 program that aims at strengthening cultural identity and promoting heritage-based tourism in the national capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled this heritage fellowship Delhi initiative at a formal launch event, marking a significant step towards engaging youth in the preservation and promotion of the city's rich cultural legacy. The Tourism & Heritage Fellowship will be administered by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), with plans to select 40 young professionals annually. Each selected candidate will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000.

"This strategic initiative represents our commitment to involving young professionals directly in the national capital's tourism ecosystem," stated Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the announcement. "The program reflects our dedication to self-reliance and nurturing local talent in alignment with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision."

The Delhi Tourism and Heritage Program has established specific eligibility criteria for applicants, with candidates must be below 35 years of age, possess a graduation degree, and demonstrate at least one year of relevant professional experience. The selection process will prioritize graduates and postgraduates with backgrounds in tourism-related fields. Additionally, proficiency in Hindi and English, coupled with strong digital competencies, constitutes a mandatory requirement for all applicants.

The fellowship encompasses diverse operational areas designed to provide comprehensive exposure to promoting Delhi's heritage. Participants will engage in event coordination, tourism marketing initiatives, content creation, heritage walks, and guided tours. The program also includes volunteer opportunities at culturally significant venues such as the Garden of Five Senses and Dilli Haat. Furthermore, fellows will contribute to film shooting facilitation and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) activities, ensuring a broad experience in the tourism sector.

"This Delhi's new fellowship program is strategically designed to harness the energy and creativity of our youth while simultaneously strengthening the institutional framework governing tourism in the city," emphasized CM Rekha Gupta. She described the initiative as creating a vital "bridge between the government and the next generation of cultural ambassadors."

Chief Minister Gupta characterized the initiative as providing meaningful opportunities for youth engagement with heritage preservation activities. "This program establishes a robust platform for young professionals to directly collaborate with government initiatives and emerge as effective agents of transformative change in Delhi's tourism landscape," she concluded.

The comprehensive nature of this career in tourism & heritage program ensures that participants gain practical experience across multiple dimensions of the tourism industry. Upon successful completion of the fellowship tenure, participants will receive certificates of completion, formally recognizing their contribution to heritage preservation and tourism promotion efforts.
