Once upon a time, during the holy time of the Mahabharata, the Pandavas set out to find Lord Shiva to atone for their crimes after the great war. However, the merciful god, distraught at the carnage, ran away from them as a powerful bull. The strongest of the brothers, Bhima, attempted to capture the bull after spotting the supernatural disguise. Lord Shiva disappeared into the earth at that point, and his holy bodily pieces appeared in five mysterious spots around the Himalayas. One of the twelve holy Jyotirlingas, Kedarnath, is located where his hump sprang from the ground.
Located next to the beautiful Mandakini River and surrounded by the snow-covered Garhwal Himalayan peaks at 3,583 meters above sea level, Kedarnath Temple is an icon of the resolve of the majestic. Millions witnessed the remarkable feat of this ancient shrine standing tall and unbroken, even after the devastating floods of 2013 destroyed everything in their path. Many followers are drawn to this stone temple every year by its spiritual allure, despite its origins remaining unknown.
Today, it's a difficult 21-kilometre walk from Gaurikund to this magnificent home, but each step takes you closer to divine kindness. With meals, accommodation and guided assistance included, our Kedarnath Tour Package turns this holy pilgrimage into a relaxing, unforgettable experience that lets you focus only on your spiritual experience in this place where myths come to life.
