Dev Deepawali, meaning “Diwali of the Gods,” is celebrated on the auspicious full moon (Kartik Purnima), fifteen days after the traditional Diwali. According to ancient Vedic lore, this is the sacred night when the gods descend from the heavens to bathe in the holy waters of the Ganga and celebrate the triumph of Lord Shiva over the demon Tripurasura.
