The story of Muktinath Dham, which is 3,710 meters high in Nepal's Mustang district, is a deep story of spiritual convergence where Hindu and Buddhist legends come together. Hindu mythology says that the site came from the Puranas and the story of the demon king Jalandhara and his devoted wife, Brinda. Because Brinda was always pure, Jalandhara was never defeated. This made Lord Vishnu step in and take Jalandhara's form to break her meditation. When Brinda found out about the lie, she cursed Vishnu to show up in four earthly forms: the Tulsi plant, the Shaligrama stone, the Pipal tree, and the Kusha grass. People call Muktinath the "Mukti Kshetra" (Place of Liberation) because the sacred Gandaki River gives up the black Shaligrama stones, which are thought to be the non-man-made form of Vishnu himself.
Tibetan Buddhists also call the site "Chumig Gyatsa," which means "Hundred Waters." They see it as a holy place for the Dakinis, or sky-dancers. People think that Padmasambhava, a great master from the 8th century who brought Buddhism to Tibet, meditated here while travelling from India. This left behind a spiritual mark that makes it one of the 24 tantric places of power. The Dham's physical layout shows these two beliefs. The main temple is surrounded by 108 bull-faced water spouts, which are important in both Hindu astrology and Buddhist prayer beads. The Jwala Mai temple, which is close by, has an eternal flame that burns naturally over a water spring. This flame represents the rare and divine coexistence of fire, water, and earth. Every pilgrim who bathes and prays there is promised a release from the cycle of birth and rebirth.

Overview
This carefully planned four-day pilgrimage connects the spiritual plains of Uttar Pradesh with the high-altitude wonders of the Mustang region in Nepal. It was made to make the trip to one of the world's highest temples as easy as possible. The route starts in Gorakhpur (India) and goes north for three hours to the Sonauli border. At Bhairahawa, it enters the green, rolling hills of Nepal. We use a strategic "Fly-In" model to avoid the long, difficult 15-hour drive through rough terrain. We take a scenic flight to Pokhara, which is on the lake and then a special mountain plane to Jomsom.
From Jomsom, the last leg to the holy shrine is done in a local Jeep safari, which keeps pilgrims' energy up for prayer instead of making them tired from travelling. The return circuit goes through the cultural center of Kathmandu, giving you a full experience of the Vedic and Buddhist traditions of the Himalayas. The best time to go on this trip is between March and June or September and November, when the weather is nice in the valleys and cool in the mountains. Because of the 3,710-meter altitude, the physical effort is rated as moderate. However, our itinerary is full of flights, making it the easiest route for families and senior citizens, who want to see the Lord of Salvation.
