Price: ₹25000 ₹On Request
The name Mallikarjuna is as poetic as the place itself. “Mallika” refers to the fragrant white jasmine flower, while “Arjuna” is another sacred name for Lord Shiva. According to legend, when Kartikeya left Mount Kailash after a disagreement, Shiva and Parvati followed him to the forests of Srisailam to console him. Here, Shiva manifested as Mallikarjuna, and Goddess Parvati appeared as Bhramaramba, making the sacred Mallikarjuna Temple one of the few places where both Shiva and Shakti are worshipped together with equal devotion.
Today, the Shri Mallikarjuna Temple is counted among the most revered Jyotirlingas and is widely known as the famous Jyotirlinga in Andhra Pradesh. Surrounded by the dense forests of the Nallamala Hills and located near a vast tiger reserve, the divine atmosphere of the Srisailam Mallikarjuna Temple feels both ancient and deeply spiritual. Pilgrims often begin their journey with a holy dip in the Krishna River at Patalaganga before entering the timeless stone corridors of the sacred shrine.
Devotees visiting the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple frequently look for details about Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga temple timings, Mallikarjuna temple Jyotirlinga time for darshan, and Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga darshan booking to plan a smooth pilgrimage experience. One of the most sought-after rituals here is the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Sparsh Darshan, where devotees get a rare opportunity to touch the sacred Shiva Lingam and offer prayers directly. The temple’s spiritual energy, combined with centuries of devotion, makes this holy site one of the most powerful Siddha Kshetras in India.

Overview
Visit this spiritually fulfilling 3-day Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Yatra in Gujarat, exclusively organised by Trip To Temples. One of Lord Shiva's twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, is situated on the Arabian Sea coast close to Dwarka. This yatra can be completed throughout the year, but the best time to visit is October to March, when the weather is nice and suitable for temple darshan and seaside touring. During this period, daytime temperatures range between 20°C to 32°C, while evenings stay warm. While monsoon months may provide unexpected rainfall, summers can be hot and muggy.
It is advised to wear modest apparel appropriate for temple visits and light cotton garments. The journey begins from Dwarka, one of the Char Dhams, and includes smooth road transfers, comfortable stays, planned darshans and guided assistance. With all logistics taken care of, you can immerse yourself fully in devotion, peace and the divine energy of Lord Shiva. Pilgrims who have previously experienced the divine blessings of the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga often choose this sacred journey as part of their spiritual circuit, and Trip To Temples also offers a dedicated Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga tour package for devotees seeking a complete Jyotirlinga pilgrimage experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga: Where Shiva and Shakti Reside Together (Andhra Pradesh)
When is the busiest time?
Maha Shivratri and the month of Karthika are incredibly crowded. If you want a peaceful darshan, try to visit on weekdays during the winter months.
Is this tour okay for elders?
Definitely. We keep the pace slow and use private cars to get you as close to the temple as possible. Srisailam is very senior-friendly if you avoid the heavy festival rush days.
What should I buy there?
Look for the local forest honey and sandalwood products. The temple is also famous for its vibhuti (sacred ash).
How do we reach Patalaganga?
You can either take a scenic ropeway ride (highly recommended for the views!) or walk down several hundred steps. If you have seniors with you, the ropeway is the best bet.
Is the road from Hyderabad safe?
Yes, it’s a good highway, but the last stretch through the forest is a ghat road. There are forest checkpoints, and the road is closed at night, so we always plan our travel during daylight hours.
What is the dress code?
Traditional wear is a must. Saree or salwar-kameez for women; dhotis, kurtas, or simple trousers for men. If you plan on doing a special Abhishekam in the inner sanctum, men might be asked to remove their shirts and wear a dhoti.
Why is Srisailam so unique?
It’s the only place in India where a Jyotirlinga (Shiva) and a Shakti Peeth (Parvati) are worshipped together in one complex. It’s considered the "Kailash of the South."
