It is believed that performing the parikrama of Mount Kailash absolves the sins committed in past lives and liberates one from the cycle of life and death.
There are two types of Kailash Parvat Parikrama: Inner parikrama and outer parikrama, and these parikrama involves high-altitude trekking to reach Mount Kailash.
The inner parikrama of Mount Kailash is believed to be the toughest part of the yatra. This parikrama includes getting closer to Mount Kailash and performing charansparsh of the peak.
The outer parikrama of Mount Kailash is relatively easier than the inner parikrama or inner kora. It takes only 3 days to complete the outer parikrama/kora. Darchen is the starting point of the Kailash Parvat Parikrama.
