Mount Kailash is a fascinating natural structure that is highly revered by devotees of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon religion. Hindus believe that it is the abode of Lord Shiva. This exceptional-looking mountain has four faces that match the cardinal points of the compass. Also, there are no neighboring mountains that dwarf it as it rises up to more than 22,000 ft. The best time according to the government of India to travel is between the months of June and September. The Ministry of External Affairs conducts trips for hundreds of pilgrims every year in batches. There are two routes that the government uses for this, one via the Lipulekh pass and one via the Nathu La pass. Both routes take about 3 weeks to complete.
