KMVN & TTT Unison 2022

Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) is the governing body of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand looking after the development of the region which includes creating employment opportunities and sustainable community development along with the promotion of tourism. KMVN has experience of over 4 decades in conducting Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra.
Trip To Temples (TTT) is a Noida-based Travel Agency that focuses on pilgrimage tours. It is India’s No. 1 Kailash Yatra Travel Agency and the only private agency to have crossed the benchmark of 1000 pilgrims in one year. TTT is known for building a strong relationship with its customers by providing best-in-class services along with customer satisfaction.
Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trip To Temples (TTT) u/o Divine Mantra Pvt. Ltd. and has chosen them as their official partner for organizing the Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra.

The Adi Kailash & Om Parvat are located in the Kumaon region of the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, which is known as Dev Bhoomi (The Land of Gods & Goddess). They are considered to be one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Manas Khand of Skanda Purana, the Yatra of Adi Kailash and Om Parvat holds the same prominence as the Yatra of Kailash Mansarovar. The description of the religious and mythological importance of this place is found in epic texts like Mahabharatha and Ramayana.

Situated on the Indo- Nepal border in Uttarakhand, Mount Adi Kailash is believed to be the resting abode of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati with their children Ganesha and Kartikeya. It is the replica of Mount Kailash, hence is popularly known by the names Baba Kailash and Chota Kailash. It is said that Mount Adi Kailash was the first stoppage of Shiv Parvati Baraat that originated from the Kailash Mansarovar. The demon king Ravana got the blessing of 10 heads here.

According to the legends, eight mountains on the earth have an impression of Om- the auspicious symbol of the Hindu religion. Out of these eight mountains, only one has been discovered on the Indo-Nepal-Tibet border in Uttarakhand, which is the Om Parvat. The position of this mountain is such that there is India on one side, Nepal on the second side, and Tibet on the third side. The snow falling on the peak of this magical mountain takes the shape of Om which is visible only from India’s side.

Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam has been a pioneer in conducting Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra for the past few years. In 2022 KMVN collaborated with Trip To Temples for organizing a safe and hassle-free journey for the devotees of Lord Shiva at their best comfort level. The Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra route is open from June to October, registration for which has already been started by TTT. It will be a combination of religious as well as cultural tourism. This religious eight days circuit from Kathgodam to Kathgodam is not only a trip to two places, rather it is a trip that will cover 18 sightseeings namely Bhimtal, Kainchi Dham, Chitai Golu Temple, Jageshwar Dham, Mount Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, Parvati Sarovar, Gauri Kund, Adi Kailash Temple, Brahma Parvat, Sheshnag Parvat, Parvati Mukut, and Pandav Parvat, Pandav Fort, Kunti Parvat, Ved Vyas Gufa, Kali Temple- Kala Pani, and Patal Bhubaneshwar. Each of these sights holds spiritual importance.

Though there are many challenges in Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra,  KMVN and TTT have collaborated to provide the best of services to the pilgrims visiting Adi Kailash Om Parvat which include:

  • Experienced Support staff for Adi Kailash Yatra - The team of experts that includes the KMVN trained certified Guide and TTT Tour Manager will be present with the group throughout the yatra to assist the pilgrims. The team is undoubtedly the most experienced team which has the strongest hold to manage things while being strongly connected to other government departments to manage exigencies.
  • Accommodation in Om Parvat Yatra - There are only limited options available for infrastructure in the Adi Kailash Om Parvat region. KMVN (Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam) has hotels, camps guest houses in name of KMVN Tourist Rest House (TRH). The pilgrims will be provided all the stays in KMVN Tourist Rest Houses which is the best available accommodation in the region. This stay will be exclusively used only for pilgrims traveling with Trip To Temples.
  • Meals in Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra - Since there are no restaurants and hotels out there, getting quality food and timely meals is a challenge in Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra. KMVN Trip To Temples has put up a permanent kitchen at each KMVN Tourist Rest House so that we can serve proper food timely for Adi Kailash Yatra pilgrims. Eating properly at high altitude is necessary, thus three times pure veg no onion no garlic meals freshly cooked by permanent cooks deployed at the permanent kitchen will be provided to the pilgrims.
  • Communication system in Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra - As of now, there is no mobile connectivity after Dharchula. So to avoid any hindrance in communication, TTT KMVN  have planned to keep a walkie-talkie in each group for better communication with a range to contact the next/previous base camp. This will help in providing smooth services to the pilgrims.
  • Transportation in Chota Kailash Yatra - Transportation is the area of concern for Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra. Limited commercial vehicles are available in that area most of them are not ready to go until unless you have a prior agreement for the whole season with volume. Beyond Dharchula, 4x4 Bolero is the only option. KMVN Trip To Temples is in progress for having a prior agreement with vehicle owners for serving a huge volume. Keeping in mind the comfort of the pilgrims, only 4 to 5 people will be seated in the transport that has a capacity of 8 to 9 people.
  • Medical Emergency support for Adi Kailash Yatra - The experienced staff of KMVN TTT are trained enough to manage any emergency. For the safety of the pilgrims, a basic medical kit and oxygen cylinder will be available at each KMVN rest house as well as a first aid kit and oximeter will be available with each group during the entire journey of Adi Kailash Om Parvat. In case of extreme situations, our team is trained to evacuate the pilgrim and take them to the hospital available in Dharchula.
  • Hawan Puja during Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra - Every Pilgrimage tour is incomplete without Puja. To make the Adi Kailash yatra a memorable one by getting the optimum blessings of the lord, TTT will be providing a provision for Group Hawan Puja at Kali Temple- Kala Pani which will be performed by a local priest/lama. Pilgrims can chant Om Namah Shivay or read Shiv Tandav Stotram and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
  • Local culture Experience in Baba Kailash Yatra - The pilgrims will also get a chance to experience the culture of the Kumaon region by staying one night in the KMVN certified Heritage Homestay and enjoying the cultural performance by the locals. This will enhance your experience of Adi Kailash Yatra.

The main objective of the MoU between KMVN & TTT is to attract more and more pilgrims to visit Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. With KMVN’s infrastructure & experienced support staff, and Trip To Temples top-notch services, TTT & KMVN aims at making the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra a lifetime experience for the pilgrims along with their utmost comfort and security.

  • Development of Infrastructure in Adi Kailash Om Parvat region - Earlier Adi Kailash & Om Parvat was visited by a limited number of people due to the difficult trek of 200km. But now with the efforts of the Government of India, the Government of Uttarakhand, and the Border Road Construction Department the yatra has become motorable with the construction of the national highway up to Jolingkong and Nabhidhang.
  • Improvement in Facilities of the Chota Kailash & Om Parwat region - The collaboration between KMVN & TTT is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Until 2019 KMVN was the sole organizer of the Adi Kailash Yatra. In 2021 Trip To Temples became the leading operator of Adi Kailash Yatra. With the two most trusted organizations coming together in 2022, the synergy between KMVN & TTT will be unmatchable. The team will provide better facilities to the pilgrims of Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra that will make their journey hassle-free.
  • Employment generation for the locals of the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat region - With the development of infrastructure, more people will now be attracted to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, and there will be an increase in the requirement of manpower that will eventually lead to the generation of employment for the locals. Employment generation will contribute to an increase in the income level of the locals thus developing their standard of living and overall development.
  • Promotion of Rural and Sustainable tourism in the Om Parvat & Baba Kailash region - KMVN has developed Heritage Home Stays in the Nabi Village. TTT & KMVN have organized one night stay in these heritage homes along with a cultural performance by the locals of the village so that the pilgrims can enjoy and experience the local culture of the Kumaon region, thus promoting Rural Tourism in the region. Being at a high altitude, there is limited availability of resources in the Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra. Managing the yatra with limited availability will lead to the promotion of sustainable tourism.
  • A Plant in your Name in the Adi Kailash Om Parvat region - TTT & KMVN has decided to plant one tree on the Land of Shiva in the name of each pilgrim traveling with us to promote the Go Green Initiative, thus contributing to the environment by providing oxygen to the pilgrims who will come in future. This will be a symbol of your presence in the Holy land and will always be a souvenir of the Yatra for you.

In short, the KMVN & TTT collaboration will be very beneficial in making the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra successful and comfortable for all the devotees of Lord Shiva.
